WRITERS WANTED, UNDEAD OR ALIVE!
The blog is growing too big for one person to handle alone, so I’m seeking horror writers to cover several TV shows and possibly some other topics, like horror fiction… (but the horror fiction editor must stick with quality fiction and not just use the position to promote all their friends’ work. I’ve seen how that world can work!)
Please note that consistency and timeliness are essential, so I’m asking for a commitment to recap each TV episode within 24 hours of airing. Writers get a profile page on the site and links to their personal website or blog and access to things like press conference calls of the shows they cover, plus assistance with setting up interviews. One doesn’t have to be female to apply, but bear in mind the tagline is “chicks who dig horror, not chick flicks” so a female perspective is the main focus of the site itself, but the most import thing is keeping the tone fun and conversational.
Specific TV shows I’m looking to cover: Supernatural, Grimm, Haven, Dracula, The Witches of East End and The Vampire Diaries. I’m keeping The Walking Dead and Face Off. I’ve also assigned American Horror Story, The Originals, and Sleepy Hollow already. Also interested in writers covering paranormal shows, or if you love another show related to horror I haven’t listed, let me know your idea
Please email me with the shows you’re interested in and a short writing sample, preferably a recap of a TV show or movie review. Put “writers positions” in the subject and send to horrorexaminer at aol dot com. Thanks!
honestly, I love all things horror. I even collect action figures from different horror films. Whatever you would like me to watch and recap of I am willing to do. I don’t exactly have a writing sample per say, but I would have to say that one of my favorite horror films would be the Original Hellraiser. The classic horror and gore comes to mind when I watch that film. How back in the day that was scary with all the blood, Frank having no skin and of course my favorite thing about the whole movie in general, the Cenobytes. Pinhead will always be my favorite and my reference to anything “pain” related.
