Horror Trailers, News, and Movie Reviews
Love horror films? Vampires? Werewolves? You aren’t alone. Scary movies and the horror genre are going strong on the both the big and small screens with plenty of choices out there, but the quality is hit and miss. We embrace all types of horror as long as it’s good: Hammer-style gothic horror, Italian Giallo, commercial films that rely on “boo” moments, and the independent “slow-burn” films that get under our skin and make it crawl. What else we love: Frankenstein, Dracula, the Mummy, Freddy Krueger, Jason Vorhees, The Walking Dead, zombies, Hammer Films, Edgar Allan Poe, Vincent Price, Sir Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, and The Blair Witch Project, although we never want to see another found footage film as long as we live.

‘Creep’ 2004: What lurks in the shadows of the London underground
Long before The Midnight Meat Train, subways and the London underground have been the setting for horror, like the famous scene in American Werewolf in London. But 2004's Creep stays down in the dark, with poor Franka Potente finding herself locked in after falling...
Sir Christopher Lee: Horror Fans Mourn A Legend And The End Of An Era
In an age when the terms “legend” and “icon” are bestowed carelessly on the undeserving, the world lost a true Hollywood icon in the form of Sir Christopher Lee, who passed away June 7 at the age of 93. Best known for his portrayals of Count Dracula among his record...
The Blair Bigfoot Project
Exists is not a bad movie. But it's yet another in a far too long line of the "found footage" genre. I realize that Eduardo Sanchez has a certain claim to the genre as the director of the classic that started it all, The Blair Witch Proiect, but enough is enough. As a...
‘The Devil’s Hand’ gets DVD release
What happens when you have six girls born on the sixth day of the sixmonth in the same Amish community with deep religious beliefs? Why, a demonic legend surrounding them, of course. The latest creepy devil legend thriller is The Devil's Hand, now available on DVD....
‘American Horror Story’ releases three new teasers
We knew those folks at “American Horror Story” had been quiet way too long. I mean, it's been days since they released a teaser trailer. So Thursday they released three at once. And if the show goes as creepy as some of the new teasers, we are in for a dark carnival...
‘Saw’ back in theaters this Halloween
This Halloween, Lionsgate will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the theatrical release of "Saw", the film that kicked off the most successful horror franchise in history, by bringing it back to theaters nationwide for one week only. The film will open on Friday,...
Will ‘The Pyramid’ be just another Mummy movie?
Movies that go underground make me claustrophobic, and there seems to be an awful lot of them lately. "The Pyramid" throws in some Egyptian mythology and old-fashioned curses to up the ante, with results that look pretty scary, at least in the trailer. The ancient...
Bigfoot stalks a cabin in the woods in ‘Exists’ (TRAILER)
It seems this particular group of young adults in this new trailer for "Exists" accidentally selected the Bigfoot option for their run in at the classic (overused) "cabin in the woods" horror film scenario. And it seems instead of "going 'Squatching," Sasquatch is...
‘Wer’ redefines the werewolf genre
It's so hard to find -- and presumably make-- a good werewolf movie. It's certainly one of the most complex creatures to create realistically, with a varying rate of success in the past and present. For instance, you have the classic "American Werewolf in London"...
‘Oculus’ is one big ball of (creepy) confusion
Haunted mirrors with evil spirits can be very creepy, as can watching someone break down into mental illness and violence. If presented in a simple, straightforward way, it's effective, but some of the great disturbing moments of "Oculus" get muddied up in...
