Tonight on TV: ‘The Walking Dead’ (spoilers)

Carol (Melissa Suzanne McBride) dropped a major bombshell last week at the end of “The Walking Dead,” when she quietly confessed to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) that she had killed the two members of the group and burned the bodies. You know… the motherly one. Who saw that coming?

You got some ‘splainin’ to do, Carol.

The obvious guess is it was her way of trying to contain the virus. Which obviously failed, giving us all new context to her behavior earlier in the episode when she told Tyreese (Chad Coleman) how sorry she was, how she’d check in on his sister for him and vented her frustration by kicking over water containers.

But how on earth does Rick handle this now? Now Carol is going off cockeyed and just doing whatever she wants without input from anyone else. How can he look Tyreese on the face knowing what he knows?

And speaking of Tyreese, he and the rest of his band of merry robbers on a mission to get antibiotics before people start doing ran into a little snag. Actually, more than a little… try a “superherd” of walkers stranding them by the roadside. And by superherd, I mean hundreds for as far as the eye could see down the road.

Will they get the medicine in time? And how do you think Rick will handle this info he just got dumped on him? Will he put his “symbolic hat” back on? (What the hell was Marilyn Manson on last week on The Talking Dead?”)

Tonight on TV: ‘The Walking Dead’ goes into ‘Isolation’

Things were bad enough on last week’s episode of “The Walking Dead,” with this nasty virus killing people in the night and unleashing walkers amongst the sleeping humans. But then on top of all that, we found out someone is killing and burning people inside the prison.

That kinda makes The Governor start looking good, doesn’t it?

With the death toll of 12 last week, the survivors now have to cope with knowing they have a killer among them and a threat from mother nature in the form of an infectious disease. In these poor people ever get a break? Yeah, I know, rhetorical question.

Given one of the burned murder victims was Karen, Tyreese’s love interest (or former love interest, anyway) it seems pretty safe to say he is not one of the suspects. Or, hey, if you’ve seen any true crime shows, maybe we should have him at the top of the list of suspects.

The current buzz of spoilers is that there will be a major herd of walkers encountered on a supply run tonight and that you’ll see those who are possibly infected with this illness (based on a super flu bug per the show producers) put into isolation, hence the episode title.

Check out “The Walking Dead” tonight on AMC and “The Talking Dead” immediately after, and the gallery of photos from this episode below.

Tonight on TV: ‘The Walking Dead’ spoilers

Prepare for all hell to break loose tonight on AMC’s “The Walking Dead” after a relatively peaceful premiere… except that whole zombies dropping from the sky thing. And when we left off at the end, we had one poor prison gang resident who seems to have died of some kind of mystery illness, and turned. While everyone else was still sleeping.

That just ain’t good.

A few mild spoilers:

Last week on “The Talking Dead,” producers already revealed that the proverbial poop is about to hit the fan, and that the premiere was a set up of how peaceful things have been, so they can tear that peace to shreds. They also dropped a bomb by revealing that there is an illness and an airborne one at that, so a deadly illness sweeping through, killing people and causing them to turn as all the dead do without a bullet to the brain… well, that’s a problem that could make the Governor look tame.

They also dished a bit on romance rumors for Daryl (Norman Reedus) and the rather uncomfortably long hug with Beth (Emily Kinney.) Is it misdirection for a hook up with Carol (Melissa Suzanne McBride), or are Beth  and Daryl maybe the next love match?

I suppose that’s all pretty frivolous thinking when you have a walker running loose in the prison compound turning god-knows-how-many-people before he’s discovered, and from the looks of  the video clip below, they don’t seem to discover him right away, unless this is after that crisis.

What do you think will happen tonight? How many will die before they discover this guy? Will Daryl get lucky? And where is that pesky Governor?

Fans of the AMC phenomenon “The Walking Dead” finally get their fix tonight as Season 4 kicks off. Now, mild spoilers may ensue below, but first of all, let’s talk about that photo above. After some dynamic, uh… tension between Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa Suzanne McBride) in previous seasons, is this a friendly gesture, or a wee bit more?

Now, we don’t know where or when, but we do know you haven’t seen the last of the Governor and we’re getting some new characters this season. Rumor also has it one episode will follow the comic to the “T,” but no word on which one. But hey, you were planning on watching anyway, right?

Here’s an Episode 1 teaser trailer:
