Tonight on TV: The Axeman cometh on ‘American Horror Story’

AHS_0654

After the big news that Stevie Nicks would appear on an upcoming episode of “American Horror Story,” dishing on what might happen on tonight’s episode almost seems anti-climactic.

Almost.

So, with the help of a few photos from the episode itself, there are a few questions that come up about what might happen. Namely, a photo of Madison (Emma Roberts) looking very alive and well. Now, that could be a flashback, but judging from that scarf around her neck, it sort of looks like she’s trying to cover up where Fiona did a number on her neck with a knife. And if Misty resurrected myrtle after last week’s bonfire, hey, why not bring Madison back.

The only question is, how much will Madison remember? Will she remember what Fiona did to her? More importantly, will she remember Spalding’s tea parties? And most important of all, will any of us ever get recover after that whole living dead girl tea party scene? Just thinking about it makes me feel dirty all over again. And not dirty in a good way.

Anyway… Another interesting photo from the episode tonight shows Cordelia looking normal without any burns or the blinding. So, is that a flashback or is Cordelia healed somehow? Healed, in this case, meaning physically healed, because I sorta like it when she can see what her dirty, rotten, no-good husband’s been up to. (And for what it’s worth, I knew exactly what he was going to do to his little girlfriend. I could see that man was far more evil than the witches in the house.)

And how about Myrtle? You know Myrtle is gonna be wanting some revenge after Fiona framed her for Madison’s murder.

I had thought it would be Nan who would step up as the new Supreme, but with all this resurrecting going on, Misty is sure looking good as a possible replacement for Fiona. Given that Misty can even resurrect herself after being burned at the stake, I think Fiona might have her work cut out for if she tries to get rid of Misty.

So let’s sum up just who all is out for Fiona’s blood here: resurrected Myrtle, Madison if she gets resurrected, Marie Laveau, and hard telling how many other people are gonna crawl out of the woodwork to try to give Fiona her due. You’d think as smart as she is she would learn to play nice. At least to people’s faces.

But then I guess she just wouldn’t be Fiona then, would she?

Tune into FX tonight for the next installment in “American Horror Story: Coven.” Here’s a preview video and some more photos from the episode that airs tonight.

Tonight on TV: ‘American Horror Story’ lights a match

Brace yourself for an action-packed episode of “American Horror Story” tonight on FX. When we left off last week, Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) was blinded by acid thrown in her face by that evil Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett), who also conjured up the whole yard full of zombies to come after the girls at the charm school for witches.

Which is to say… it’s on between Fiona and Marie. (Sorta sounds like a Vegas lounge act doesn’t it?)

Of course, there ain’t a whole lot of kindness and gentleness on the other side of the fence in Fiona’s camp either. Let’s not forget that Fiona (Jessica Lange) just killed off poor little mean girl Madison (Emma Roberts) because she was afraid she was going to be the new Supreme: A theory dispelled by Cordelia, as the Supreme is supposed to be of good health, and Cordelia revealed that Madison had major health issues she hid from everyone.

And speaking of theories about who the real upcoming Supreme is, here’s mine.

Judging from previews for this week, Miss Fiona is far from done racking up the death toll. The previews show her and her band of teenage witches — dressed entirely in black, of course — toasting up somebody with a little bonfire, and rockin’ it old school Salem style.

Who do you think they’re torching in that preview? How do you think the girls will escape the zombies? Andt perhaps the most important — and disturbing — question of all is how long will the dead Madison be the life size tea party doll for Spalding (Denis O’Hare?)

There’s good creepy, and there’s bad creepy, and that last one is of the latter variety. Ew.

American Horror Story” airs Wednesday nights on FX.

Tonight on TV: A little murder on ‘American Horror Story’

While we may have tipped you off that there was a little murder brewing last week before the last episode of “American Horror Story:  Coven,” we sure didn’t see that one coming. If you didn’t see the episode last week, stop reading because this is your official spoiler alert.

Co-creator Ryan Murphy had tipped us off that someone was going to die on last week’s episode, and most people put their money on poor little Nan (Jamie Brewer). Wrong answer. When Fiona (Jessica Lange) figured out that Madison (Emma Roberts) was in line to become the new Supreme  with her powers were amping up — and draining Fiona’s power — Miss Fiona figured it was just about time to take out the competition. And she did her in with the flick of the knife blade, just like she did the former Supreme, when she took over that role.

This woman can make Joan Crawford cringe and cower.

But that was far from the only crazy thing last week. I mean, where do we even begin? We had crazy voodoo rituals with animal sacrifice, lots of blood and a ritual that called for 2 ounces of “your husband’s baby gravy,” Which if you didn’t figure out what it was, the jar with white stuff in it should’ve made it clear. Ew. Then we have the really disturbing story of Frankenboy (Evan Peters) who we found out was just a little too close with his mother in a decidedly non-motherly way.  And if that wasn’t enough to make us curl up into fetal position, there was that… uh, unfortunate scene between the Minotaur and Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe).

WTF are y’all on in that writers’ room? I know it’s cable TV, but Lord have mercy.

Kudos to the writers for that little moment in the previews for the upcoming episode showing what’s left of Madison sticking out from a rolled up carpet: sparkly shoes. Nice “Wizard of Oz” reference. This season definitely has a more cheeky feel than the asylum.

Tonight on TV: ‘American Horror Story: Coven’

AHS_0022
After a premiere episode focused primarily on setting up the new story, it looks like things are about to go into full-throttle, bitchy-witchy this week on “American Horror Story: Coven.” Sort of the witch version of a Godzilla movie where two colossus forces are about to collide, with death and destruction in their wake.

Or, actually, with a little life in one case. Of the resurrected, Frankenstein variety, that is. Ah c’mon, is there any girl out there who hasn’t dreamed of creating her own perfect guy by taking the best parts from a bunch of men to create her dream date? Well, except maybe that whole actually taking dead body parts and sewing them together part.

Think of it as metaphor made into reality.

And it looks like Angela Bassett is going to make her presence really known this episode, as voodoo queen Marie Laveau. You can also bet your sweet bippidy-bobbidi-boo Fiona (Jessica Lange) is going to make sure everyone knows who the Grande Dame is.

Check out this awesome trailer and some photos from the episode below. And tune in Wednesday night to FX to catch the next episode of “American Horror Story: Coven.”

American Horror Story teasers: These boots are made for witching

ahs-cast-2

Detail of the official cast poster for “American Horror Story: Coven.”

In the wake of the recently released official first look of episode one —  cleverly named Bitchcraft — it seems the folks at “American Horror Story” have doubled their efforts in giving us more peeks at their newest season. I think I speak for everyone when I say, “Let’s get this show on the road, people!”

Not only do you see more of those insanely high heeled shoes strutting their way around “Coven’s” beautifully creepy setting, but also sitting perfectly still on a bed as the students take part in what can only be described as ‘Study Hall.’ In addition, there are also more clips of the mysterious Queen of Voodoo as she’s doing some of her beloved past times, namely sticking pins into voodoo dolls and letting a snake creep it’s way under the skirt of her dress (which at this point just appears to look like she’s half woman-half snake… not sure if that’s intentional or not).

The final and latest clip is of a young woman who is facing away from us against a wall, her hair sticking straight up in disarray, a pentagram carved into her left wrist. All I have to say is it’s a good thing October 9th isn’t far because I don’t know how much more of these small glimpses I can handle before I go batty.

And just as this blog was going up, they released yet another teaser video. Sheesh, people, let us catch up, already! And check out some new pics in the gallery below.
