Tonight on TV: ‘The Walking Dead’ (spoilers)

Carol (Melissa Suzanne McBride) dropped a major bombshell last week at the end of “The Walking Dead,” when she quietly confessed to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) that she had killed the two members of the group and burned the bodies. You know… the motherly one. Who saw that coming?

You got some ‘splainin’ to do, Carol.

The obvious guess is it was her way of trying to contain the virus. Which obviously failed, giving us all new context to her behavior earlier in the episode when she told Tyreese (Chad Coleman) how sorry she was, how she’d check in on his sister for him and vented her frustration by kicking over water containers.

But how on earth does Rick handle this now? Now Carol is going off cockeyed and just doing whatever she wants without input from anyone else. How can he look Tyreese on the face knowing what he knows?

And speaking of Tyreese, he and the rest of his band of merry robbers on a mission to get antibiotics before people start doing ran into a little snag. Actually, more than a little… try a “superherd” of walkers stranding them by the roadside. And by superherd, I mean hundreds for as far as the eye could see down the road.

Will they get the medicine in time? And how do you think Rick will handle this info he just got dumped on him? Will he put his “symbolic hat” back on? (What the hell was Marilyn Manson on last week on The Talking Dead?”)

Tonight on TV: ‘The Walking Dead’ spoilers

Prepare for all hell to break loose tonight on AMC’s “The Walking Dead” after a relatively peaceful premiere… except that whole zombies dropping from the sky thing. And when we left off at the end, we had one poor prison gang resident who seems to have died of some kind of mystery illness, and turned. While everyone else was still sleeping.

That just ain’t good.

A few mild spoilers:

Last week on “The Talking Dead,” producers already revealed that the proverbial poop is about to hit the fan, and that the premiere was a set up of how peaceful things have been, so they can tear that peace to shreds. They also dropped a bomb by revealing that there is an illness and an airborne one at that, so a deadly illness sweeping through, killing people and causing them to turn as all the dead do without a bullet to the brain… well, that’s a problem that could make the Governor look tame.

They also dished a bit on romance rumors for Daryl (Norman Reedus) and the rather uncomfortably long hug with Beth (Emily Kinney.) Is it misdirection for a hook up with Carol (Melissa Suzanne McBride), or are Beth  and Daryl maybe the next love match?

I suppose that’s all pretty frivolous thinking when you have a walker running loose in the prison compound turning god-knows-how-many-people before he’s discovered, and from the looks of  the video clip below, they don’t seem to discover him right away, unless this is after that crisis.

What do you think will happen tonight? How many will die before they discover this guy? Will Daryl get lucky? And where is that pesky Governor?

After some dynamic, uh… tension between Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa Suzanne McBride) in previous seasons, is this a friendly gesture, or a wee bit more?

Now, we don’t know where or when, but we do know you haven’t seen the last of the Governor and we’re getting some new characters this season. Rumor also has it one episode will follow the comic to the “T,” but no word on which one. But hey, you were planning on watching anyway, right?

Here’s an Episode 1 teaser trailer:

‘Walking Dead’ updates: Lori as a walker, Reedus’ photography, and a new villain?

lori-grimes-walker

“The Walking Dead” may still be in production for the new season, but news comes out of the walker camp every week, and this week we saw Rick’s dearly departed Lori as a walker, rumors of a new villain, and Norman Reedus releases a photography book, like anyone needed another reason to love him.

The Stir dished on the possibility of a new villain that would make the Governor look like Mary Poppins. “Negan” is a very bad guy from the books who carries a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire. And names it “Lucille.” Is anyone else mentally visualizing some ironic Kenny Rogers’ music somewhere in an episode?

We knew he loved Instagram, but Reedus’ limited edition photo book, “The Sun’s Coming Up… Like A Big Bald Head,” is available for pre-order. The PR line is that “This provocative collection redefines our daily encounters. Through his penetrating imagery, Reedus takes us on what proves to be a hauntingly intimate journey through the dark and sublime.”

But co-star Andrew Lincoln had a few words of his own, according to the official Big Bald Head website of his production company:

“Every photograph is in some way autobiographical, as its composition and content all depend on the eye and the mind of the taker. But I would suggest not attempting this with these images.

I first met Norman on a blistering hot Georgia day four years ago. I have been trying to pin him down ever since and he has constantly eluded me. He is one of those rare human beings (if indeed he is one), that continues to surprise you the more you get to know him…

“I had never met a Norman until Mr. Reedus appeared in my zombie apocalypse. He was my first Norman after 39 years on this planet. And so, as Barry White so eloquently put it…Norman is, ‘my first, my last, my everything.’”

Sounds like Lincoln and Reedus might be spending a wee bit too much quality time on set. Bromance, anyone?

But then, poor Andrew/Rick must be feeling pretty lonely without wifey anymore after she got infected and had to be dispatched by little Carl last season with a bullet to the noggin. Rick spent last season hallucinating her return, and now we see that he was seeing a bit more than we were, via some deleted scenes that will be on the upcoming DVD. No wonder he was so spooked. Although some show fans would argue the non-walker version was scary enough.

Y’all can be so catty sometimes.

Norman Reedus graces EW cover, misbehaves on ‘Walking Dead’ Instagram

ewcovers

Norman Reedus, aka Daryl Dixon, is one busy man.

In addition to stealing the show on “The Walking Dead,” he’s recently been featured on one of this week’s three special EW covers along with his co-stars Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Chandler Riggs (Carl). Then he took over “The Walking Dead’s” Instagram account, using a glorified cell phone camera as an excuse to run amok: licking his co-star’s face, and photobombing the zombies while flipping the bird.

He’s oh-so-bad that one. Which shouldn’t be too surprising from someone who, as he put it himself, “has made a career out of giving people dirty looks.”

He may be oh-so-bad but looks oh-so-good on the cover of EW in full Daryl Dixon character. And yes, he has the poncho, which has inspired numerous Twitter accounts in itself.

So here you go fans, with two of the cover shots and Norman behaving badly on Instagram.
